A difficult situation<\/h3>\n

Yesterday a disheveled homeless guy came in, smelling of urine, staring into space, dragged in by his brother, whose wife and kids are very active members at Healing Grove.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHector\u201d is a 59 year old male who started losing his mind about 7 years ago when he caught his wife with another man.\u00a0 The painful family betrayal unfolded slowly.\u00a0 Now he is living in his car and is nearly catatonic – psych ward level depression – and he is unable to remember simple things like the names of common fruits and vegetables.<\/span><\/p>\n

The relationship<\/h3>\n

We talked about treatments.\u00a0 He will need medicine for depression.\u00a0 He will need a place to stay.\u00a0 And most of all, he has to forgive his family because the resentments are holding him captive.\u00a0 He won\u2019t get better if he doesn\u2019t let go of the resentments, and he won\u2019t let go until he forgives.\u00a0 He agreed to try all of it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amazingly, this man whose brain currently can\u2019t recall that a round red fruit is called an \u201capple,\u201d may recover to the point where he will be able to come into his right mind, clean up, support himself, rent a room, and participate in the larger community through the power of a brother\u2019s love, radical forgiveness, and prozac.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
